The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a single-player first-person shooter video game developed by Terminal Reality and published by Activision. It is based on The Walking Dead television series, in contrast to the video game by Telltale Games, which is based on the comics. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct acts as a prequel to the TV series; it is set in the Georgia countryside and focuses on Daryl and Merle Dixon as they make their way to Atlanta during the early days of the zombie apocalypse.

The player assumes the role of Daryl Dixon, who can either fight the walkers or stealthily sneak past them. As he travels, he meets other survivors, who can either help or leave. He will have to be cautious of how much fuel, ammo and food he has, and think very strategically of who and how many he chooses to take in to his group. When he travels, he can either choose to take the highway, and save fuel but break down a lot, or take the small roads, where he will be able to scavenge from small villages and chance of breaking down is low. He can also change the vehicle he is using, ranging from a small truck to an SUV. The vehicles use up fuel which you have to watch over. When you run out of fuel, you must stop at various roadsides to try and scavenge jerry cans of fuel.

  1. A review of Singularity mate? I’ve heard from a lot of reviewers say mixed
things, some saying it’s good others saying it’s not and apparently really
    generic.

  2. You should review TellTale’s The Walking Dead game series. This was an
insult to everything that is The Walking Dead. I am sorry but this game
clearly failed to hit the mark. It got very bad reviews from many reviewers
for these said reasons. Which is why I say fuck this and go with TellTale’s
    games instead.

  3. I actually like this game. Yeah my big problems is that yeah if a horde of
Walkers rush you, you’re just fucked cause they grab you and also a thing I
hate is that the survivors die to fucking easy… Anyway its a good game and
it came out when the Walking Dead was actually a good show and not a
    bullshit gory bitchfest…

  4. Being swarmed by walkers on the original comics and all other adaptations –
    instant death (with some exceptions).

Being swarmed by zombies on SI – a annoying but easy way to dispose of
walkers, and get motion sickness in the progress…

  5. I never Cared for the walking dead tv show, they just came off as dull and
uninteresting to me, and the game looks about the same. I’ll just stick to
    dead rising over this.

  6. This is the “Zombies got popular” era. However 14 years ago if your hobby
was gaming, there were Resident Evil series, Zombies Ate My Neighbors (That
was actually early 90s game) and House of Dead.
