The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4 Slabtown – Video Review!

Alright what's going on guys it's Trev back again here to bring you my weekly review for this week's episode of the walking dead season 5 episode 4, Slabtown.

So we finally get to see the return of Beth and get an idea of what she has been up to all this time. We find her as part of a hospital group lead by a tyrannical police officer named Dawn Learner. And oh yeah as the name implies, she'll learn yah.

So all in all I thought this was a fairly decent episode and I am going to give it an 8 out of 10. This is the beginning of a new story arc with a new group of survivors in an entirely new location. This one has a much different feel from what we are used to because they basically survive by locking down and minmizing runs outside of the hospital. So yeah it isn't the most exciting location but it is some fun to see something so different.

  1. The problem with fast paced episodes of this show is that the second
there’s an episode with normal pacing, people will bitch and moan because
it’s “slow”. In one episode we got new characters that we got to know, a
new location, even a couple deaths, some cool walker kills and Noah
escaping, setting up storyline for future episodes, along with a great
cliffhanger. This episode could have just been Beth getting to know the
community with nothing happening, they could have totally postponed the
escape plan by a couple episodes. But the creators listened to the fans and
we got a pretty well paced episode where a lot of things happened. Not one
of the best episodes, but I think people are forgetting how fast paced this
episode was compared to some of the past episodes of The Walking Dead. But
because it was Beth, people were ready to hate it. I would give this one an
    8.5/10

  2. Who gives a crap if Daryl, Rick, or Michonne weren’t in the episode. It
seems to me people have a hard time paying attention to the storyline when
it doesn’t involve action, walker kills or huge explosions. Btw, we won’t
see Rick or Michonne until episode 507 so you might want to set your dvrs
or whatever it is you do until the 23rd of this month. Beth kick some ass
    last night.

  3. From whiny and defenseless to hardened killer, Beth everybody! This episode
was convoluted, poorly written, and uninteresting. Lame character
development for Beth and pretty bland side characters. Any decent scenes
were ruined by that unrealistic and cheesy slow-motion escape of the
hospital. I’d give it a 4/10 simply because I did like a couple scenes with
Chris and the doctor was alright.

  4. Any other Survivor would have been out of that hospital in 20 minutes. Beth
had a gun and the officers walked right passed her. They had their backs
turned all she had to do was shoot those 3, give Noah a gun, take out the
dude on the roof, take his gun, take the rest of the servants and arm them
and head off. She had the jump on them but because Beth is a terrible
survivor and can’t think for herself she follows Noah’s stupid ass escape
    plan.

  5. I really enjoyed last nights episode, despite the fact people are saying it
was ‘slow-paced’. I LOVE the character development they’ve done with Beth
and it seems the minute Beth doesnt have all these people (like Rick, Daryl
etc) to protect her she actually DOES step up and become strong and brave
which I love! Noah seems like a chill guy and I’m almost certain he’s the
one with Daryl in the forest. I also loveddddd the cliffhanger and I can’t
wait to see where they go with that. However one thing I wasn’t sure on was
how the hospital group said they found Beth because when Daryl goes chasing
the car outside there’s NO walkers in sight-not even bodies but I dont know
maybe thats just me? Anyway I really enjoyed the episode and those a just
few of my favourite bits about it hahah:-)

  6. I’m surprised a lot people didn’t like it! I guess because Beth isn’t
really the most exciting character to put so much focus on but she is
getting a HUGE push in this season so she kind of has to have the focus,
but her storyline and development is interesting, so I actually really
enjoyed it! Dawn is a you know what and I like Everybody Hates Chris so I
think I could grow to like the Noah character on bias only! Next episode
seems to focus solely on the DC group so it seems they’re trying to do a
    lot of things at once!

  7. I think the reason Beth tried to kill the doctor at the end was to
ultimately weaken this new group. They rely and depend on him as their own
personal life saver. Killing him would weaken them for sure, if one of them
got bit or fell ill then that reduces their chance for survival. Just a
    guess though.

  8. Very NICE and SMOOTH setup for Beth’s re-introduction!
    – WHY Carol?? WHY!!? Although she’s presumably alive.
    – YAY!! Noah Made it out!!
    – I’d Tap that main Female Officer 😉 She’s Feisty
    – Ouch! that arm slice looked like it hurt!!
    – I would’ve knocked that rapist Officer if he actually raped my bae beth
    >:(

  9. This episode was a bit of an f.u. to the viewers who’ve been crying for
Beth’s and Carol’s deaths for years now. Slabtown’s taking in those they
perceive as easily overpowered and manipulated, mirrors that fan position
in regard to Beth, and the writers saw fit to just fucking destroy it. And
then, weakling Carol (who should have bit the dust back in season two
according to some) is wheeled in as if to remind us that she was once just
as marked as “useless” and “weak” by the fandom. Talk about rubbing salt –
    I love it.

Beth by the end of “Slabtown” is what happens when you allow writers to do
    their jobs and develop characters.

  10. The people who watch the show every week and yet every fucking week they
complain…. Shut up and just don’t watch the show if all you’re gonna do
    is bitch about it

  11. I absolutely hate spotlight episodes that only feature one or a couple
characters, not because it was Beth cuz I don’t even mind her at all I
actually like the character but because it takes away from the group. Even
if it was an episode about a character I really liked I would have a
problem with it since I became a fan of TWD because it showed the
comraderie of whole group trying to survive together but the second half of
season 4 really pissed me off, I was hoping they wouldn’t do that anymore
but they waste another episode with this.

  12. This is one of those episodes where most people will say us crap when It
isn’t. I realised recently when watching walking back to back you realise
tht all the episodes we originally thought were crap are actually quite
good if tht makes any sense to u guys… Trust me this episode was really
good just like the governors episodes which people though were bad but I
loved them on second viewing same with this episode

  13. super mad how they’re gonna show rick for god knows how many weeks. i hope
it’s not like season 4b where they didn’t show rick for 4 weeks

    he’s my favorite character
