The series premiere drew in 16.1 million viewers. To put that in perspective, Breaking Bad's series finale drew in 10.6 million viewers which itself was a record for AMC.

Why do we all love zombies so much? Could a zombie apocalypse ever actually happen?

  1. Actual zombies would be more disturbing than any fictional representation
thus far. For example, you never see zombies at different stages of
decomposition; they’re all broadly the same; and there are no
very-recently-dead. Also, you rarely see child or baby zombies (the baby in
    Trainspotting doesn’t really count).

  2. I agree with that lady, I’m getting tired of the zombie killings. It’s all
samey. the show has lost it’s edge of your seat creepiness it definitely
had in the first few seasons. I still watch it though because I just love
zombies but I do hope they get that terror back.

  3. i believe its not soley about the zombies but more how people survive a
zombie apocalypse for years we would get only movies showing a 2 hour story
of characters surviving it or not and thats it, with the walking dead you
get a big story showing everything that comes with surviving a zombie
apocalypse and its a big drama story with survivors having to deal with a
life full of flesh eating monsters

  4. The reason TWD is so good is because it isn’t really about zombies. I’m
completely disinterested in the zombie genre, but where the show shines is
when it focuses on post-apocalyptic society and the interactions between
    the survivors.

  5. i honestly don’t see how a scene like that is enjoyable. i get people can
like it as a niche, but fighting zombies all the time, the same constant
    threat is unappealing
